Western Head Coach Ellen Markowitz:

“The girls stayed focused and were productive on the court tonight. I am pleased with the positive attitude and energy they brought to all of their matches. To borrow a quote from Tony Bennett, I thought they did a good job of 'staying where their feet were,' meaning they were in the present and focusing on game plan or tactics, or specific parts of their game to get better.

”Corinne had an awesome comeback against Kayli Shenk, a strong tournament player. Down early and by 5-2 at one point, Corinne dug down, stayed patient with herself, hit her spots on serves to get some free points, attacked in the right ways, and climbed back into the match. I’m very proud of her composure, and her mental toughness to turn that around. She has improved so much in that area of her game.”
