Quotes from head coach Ellen Markowitz:

“I’m so excited for the team to be back in a regional final and secure a place in the state final eight.  We stayed focused tonight and handled the heat and a late start.

“We are looking forward to competing for region title tomorrow, and then state title after that.  It’s great to have the opportunity, and the girls have worked hard to be their best on and off the court. They represent Western well and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished so far. More to come!

“We’ve been working on staying in the moment and controlling our emotions on the court. Tennis can be such a tough sport, and sometimes we battle ourselves as much, or more than our opponents. The girls are getting much better at letting their mistakes go, staying positive and being a strong inner coach.”
